1. Are the articles of these lines suitable for contact with food products?
Yes - The articles are produced with materials in compliance with the European Directive 90/128 of 23/02/90 and following revisions.
Moreover the articles are in compliance with the regulations of the Italian D.M. 220/93 as concerns the organoleptic characteristics of the liquid food products involved.

2. Do the articles contain cadmium, lead, mercury and chromium?
Cadmium, lead, mercury and chromium do not exist in the chemical composition of the raw materials we normally use.

3. Why are the ball valves produced with glass reinforced PP?
The addition of glass fibre further improves the already excellent properties of polypropylene. This way we get a better stability in size, lower thermal expansion and higher resistance to traction, compression and bending.

4. Are the PA fittings self-extinguishing?
The PA66 polyamide used for the production of our fittings is not self-extinguishing as it does not contain any additive to reduce the propagation of flames in case of fire.

5. Are PP articles ozone resistant?
PP articles are not ozone resistant.

6. How can we seal a thread of a PVC pipe with the threads of Bucchi´s lines (2000/3000/8000/7000)?
You can apply a layer of teflon tape or a sealer for plastic materials.

7. How can a thread of a brass pipe be sealed to the fittings of Bucchi´s lines (2000/3000/8000/7000)?
You can apply a layer of teflon tape or liquid teflon, or hemp, or a sealant product for plastic materials

8.Can you list the main differences between PA 66 and PP to help us choose between the lines 2000 and 8000?
The PA 66 polyamide is more resistant to high temperatures, shows lower deformation at increasing temperatures, and it has a better mechanical resistance and higher rigidity and hardness as compared to PP.
PP has a better resistance to wear and is less fragile ( > elongation and > resistance to impact) as compared to PA 66.

9. What are the main characteristics of PVC, leading us to prefer PP and PA in its place?
It contains chlorides (PVC is a chlorinated polymer). Its maximum operating temperature is 60°C. Its maximum operating pressure is 15 bar

1. Is the tech evolution System compatible, as concerns the jointing technique, with the other PP-R systems on the market?
The articles of the tech evolution System are fully compatible as concerns the jointing technique with the PP-R articles of the other systems on the market.

2. Is the tech evolution System suitable for use on ships?
A system is accepted for use on ships if it complies with the ASTM 635 regulations. The tech evolution System has succeeded in the test for low flame propagation (in compliance with the ASTM 635 regulations) so it can be installed on ships.

3. What happens if the fusion times of pipe and fitting are not respected? Can the quality of the joint be jeopardised?
We recommend to respect the times shown in the technical catalogue, because if the fusion time is longer than recommended, the material can be deteriorated; moreover too much material will melt and it will close the fitting port too much. Vice versa, if the time is lower than recommended in the table, the pipe and fitting will not be well joined because the material has not reached a suitable fusion.

4. We have to construct a recycling network with PP-R pipe in a hydro-sanitary plant. Should we insulate this recycling network?
According to the law 10/90 concerning energy saving, it is necessary to insulate the recycling pipelines with insulating material. Normally the pipes are insulated in such a way that dispersion is not higher than 15% of the heat that would be dispersed if the pipe were bare.

5. Having to construct a heating system we would like to know if the tech evolution System in PP-R is in compliance with the Law 46/90.
The Law 46/90 covers the "rules for safety in plants". It is the task of the installer company to release the declaration of conformity for the plants. Installer companies are bound to prepare the plants using materials and components produced according to the regulations in force ( in this case, our articles are produced according to the German DIN regulations, corresponding to the Italian UNI ). Therefore the law 46/90 concerns the installer company and the finished system and not the single articles installed.

6. Which electric welding machines are the electric sockets compatible with?
Our electric sockets are compatible with machines for electrofusion, such as RITMO (Von Roll or similar).

7. Which sockets are Bucchi´s welders compatible with?
Our welders are compatible with polypropylene electric sockets (Ø 20-110mm) Pn 10-25 Rollmaplast type

8. What can happen if PP-R the pipes and fittings of the tech evolution System are installed in direct sunlight?
PP-R is particularly sensitive to UV beams, therefore it is recommended not to expose it to sunlight for a long time. For this reason these articles should not be installed or stored under direct sunbeams. Polypropylene, similarly to all substances of organic nature, is subject to oxidation and decay caused by the atmospheric oxygen and under direct sunlight. The material undergoes ageing, chemical degradation which causes superficial flaw. In order to make PP more resistant to the UV beams a stabilising additive is used which protects the product. The efficiency of this additive is limited in time (average duration approx. 6 months). An installation on the roof is not recommended in any case, even if protected with a layer of insulating material.

9. How can I connect the PP-R plant of the apartment to the galvanised pipes of the main column and of the old system? Instead of the stop cock I would like to use a normal brass cock. How can I joint it?
There is no problem in connecting the polypropylene plant of the apartment to the galvanised pipes of the column and of the installation. The tech evolution System is used for new installations, repairs, restoration. To this purpose you have available adapter sockets with threaded metal insert. You can replace the stop cock with two adapter sockets with threaded metal insert and a normal brass cock, making sure that jointing should be done in the right way to prevent any hidden leakage in the chase. We recommend testing the line before covering it finally.

1. Can the multilayer pipe be used for refrigeration plants?
The multilayer pipe can be used in case that water or other non-aggressive fluids are circulated (such as ethylene glycol which can reach a temperature of -15°C). In case of Freon it cannot be used.

2. What is the model of the jaws for the press for the tech MP System?
The jaws for the press for the tech MP System are "TH" type.

3. Is the pipe suitable for conveyance of drinkable water for human consumption?
The tech MP pipe complies with the regulations of the ordinance issued by the Health Ministry no. 102 dated 02/02/78.

4. Is the Tech MP pipe oxygen proof?
Yes, since the aluminium layer prevents the passage of oxygen, steam and other gases, thus preventing any corrosion in the circuits. Aluminium is an insuperable barrier against UV beams.
