Hydraulic tightness

The polypropylene and polyamide gas threaded fittings can be directly screwed together.

To ensure perfect tightness you can apply:
:: a thin layer of PTFE tape over the male thread;
:: a thin layer of PTFE sealant gel over the first threads to be sealed;
:: a thin layer of other types of sealer for plastic fittings;

:: hemp

Screw the parts fully but do not exert too much force. Manual screwing of the fitting, plus an additional half turn with a wrench will be sufficient. In order to avoid cutting into the fitting surface, it is advisable to place some soft material between the wrench and the fitting. In any case it is not necessary to tighten the fitting excessively.

To ensure perfect tightness of hose nozzles with flexible pipes it is advisable to use pipe clamps.

For perfect tightness Bucchi offers the following sealers:

art. 0800922	multifiber nylon sealant gel LOCTITE 55 to be smeared over plastic or metal threads;
art. 0800923	polymerising sealant gel LOCTITE 5331 to be smeared over plastic or plastic/metal threads.

Sealers offer the following advantages:
:: they replace the usual PTFE tapes, hemp and pastes
:: they ensure full contact between threads - and guarantee 100% tightness
:: they do not shrink, do not drip, which might clog other parts, including filters, as they do not fray
:: the fittings can be easily disassembled with normal tools
